Masami Obari (director of series like Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, GUNDAM BREAKER BATTLOGUE, and Brave Bang Bravern) is recognized as the storyboard artist, director, creative producer, and co-animation director for the trailer. Added to the staff credits is Yusuke Takeda (Chainsaw Man, Vinland Saga) serving as the background art director.
Obari previously worked on a music video for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (which Takeda also contributed to) earlier this year.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was launched on April 24, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Epic Games Store. It marks the first Fatal Fury (or Garou Densetsu in Japanese) game since 1999’s Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

The franchise previously inspired TV anime specials Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf and Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle, along with the film Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture. Obari served as the character designer and chief animation director for all three projects, which were released in the 90s.
While Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ Patch 1.3.1 is highlighted as being “all about the dream crossover that is FATAL FURY × STREET FIGHTER,” Ken isn’t the sole Street Fighter character making an entrance in the new Fatal Fury game — Chun-Li is next in line, expected to appear in winter 2025.
