The anime escapades of the Togenashi Togeari band are far from finished — leading up to the October 3 JST premiere of the Girls Band Cry anime’s Seishun Kyousou Kyoku compilation film, it has been revealed that a new feature film will be developed.

At this moment, there’s no known release date or promotional video, but a visual featuring vocalist Nina Iseri with an irate expression against a crimson backdrop has been shared, echoing earlier promotional artwork from the Girls Band Cry project’s origin. It truly wouldn’t be Girls Band Cry without a furious Nina.

The announcement of the film coincides with a series of other announcements related to the Girls Band Cry project. Among these is a teaser trailer and title reveal for the Girls Band Cry First Riff video game, which will be showcased at this week’s Tokyo Game Show 2025. The details regarding the game’s genre remain undisclosed.

Meanwhile, a Zepp tour titled Hakudo no Mirai is set for Togenashi Togeari from February 11, 2026 JST to March 14, 2026 JST, starting at KT Zepp Yokohama and wrapping up at Zepp Diver City Tokyo. Additionally, a prior concert, Togenashi Togeari “4th ONE-MAN LIVE ‘Kyousou no Hibiki’,” is scheduled for Blu-ray and DVD release on October 22, 2025 JST.

For fans, a making-of book (featuring another furious Nina on the cover) published by Genkosha is scheduled for release on November 14, 2025 JST.

The Toei Animation-produced Girls Band Cry project launched in 2023, with the TV anime debuting in April 2024. Another compilation film titled Naa, Mirai — which serves as Part 2 to Seishun Kyousou Kyoku‘s Part 1 — is set to premiere on November 14, 2025 JST.

The Girls Band Cry anime was not widely accessible internationally during its airing period, with streaming limited to France’s Animation Digital Network and South Korea’s Aniplus, and later in Indonesia via CATCHPLAY+. The show subsequently became available digitally in North America.

Toei Animation describes the premise of Girls Band Cry as follows:
The protagonist leaves high school in her second year, with ambitions of entering university while working solo in Tokyo. One character suffers betrayal from her friends and feels lost. Another character is forsaken by her parents and strives to survive in the city by juggling part-time jobs. This world constantly lets us down. Plans rarely unfold as intended. Yet, we seek something we can genuinely appreciate. We believe there’s a place for us. That’s why we sing.

The lineup for Togenashi Togeari features Rina as vocalist Nina Iseri, Yuri as guitarist Momoka Kawaragi, Mirei as drummer Subaru Awa, Natsu as keyboardist Tomo Ebizuka, and Shuri as bassist Rupa.

Mirei and Natsu took a break in 2024 due to health issues and resumed voice recording activities in April 2025. On September 12 JST, it was announced that the two would miss a Budokan appearance on September 23 JST due to their condition.
