Image source: @KojiPro2015_ENDeath Stranding Mosquito, a film influenced by Hideo Kojima‘s DEATH STRANDING video game, has been announced with a teaser trailer that showcases enigmatic elements and combat between two characters, one wearing a black, gooey “mask”. The film’s title serves as a working title.
Hiroshi Miyamoto (Hug! Pretty Cure Futari Wa Pretty Cure: All Stars Memories, Precure Dream Stars!) is helming the project at ABC ANIMATION STUDIO. The screenplay is crafted by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners, Raised by Wolves), who was previously announced to be involved with the project earlier this year.
The streamed Beyond the Strand presentation clarified that the movie’s subtitle pertains to the abilities of the main character, with visuals that merge inky line art and colored layers. The background art studio is Studio Easter.
Death Stranding Mosquito is part of the expansion plans for the Death Stranding franchise.

The games feature The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus as the protagonist Sam Bridges. Other notable names have also appeared in the games as significant characters or cameos, with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach including Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii and hololive VTuber Usada Pekora.
