This article compares the standard of living in China and Japan, looking at socio-economic factors, cost of living, education systems, healthcare systems and quality of life. It is found that while there are some differences between the two countries, overall they offer citizens similar levels when it comes to quality-of-life factors such as safety, leisure activities or environmental conditions. Therefore it cannot definitively be said whether one country has a better standard-of-living than the other.
