This article examines the presence of alligators in Japan, exploring their history, current conservation efforts, and threats to their populations. Japanese Alligators (Alligator siamensis) were once found throughout much of Japan, but due to hunting and habitat destruction they are becoming increasingly rare. Conservation efforts such as captive breeding programs or reintroduction projects have been implemented, but more needs to be done if we want these creatures to survive into future generations.
