Do girls wear leggings in Japan?
Leggings have become a popular fashion trend in Japan, especially among young women. They were first introduced during the Meiji period (1868-1912) and are now available in a variety of styles such as jegging-style, patterned, printed, and sheer mesh or lace paneled. There is debate on whether leggings should be worn in public places like schools or workplaces, but ultimately it seems that they have become increasingly accepted among young Japanese girls regardless of where they choose to wear them.
