Education is highly valued in Japanese society, with parents often sacrificing their own comfort and financial security to ensure their children receive a good education. Technology has had an impact on Japanese parenting styles, with many parents relying heavily on digital devices such as smartphones and tablets to keep track of their children’s activities. Western influences have also led to an increase in more relaxed forms of parenting. Despite its strict nature, there are many benefits associated with traditional Japanese parenting practices such as high academic achievement, strong family bonds due to the close involvement between parent and child, and high levels of respect for authority figures.
