This article explores the traditional and modern roles of Japanese wives, including their financial and social responsibilities. It also examines the cultural expectations placed on them and the challenges they face in a largely patriarchal society. Despite some challenges, there has been significant progress towards achieving gender equality in Japan and providing greater opportunities for women.
