This article explores the various factors that contribute to why there is no homeless population in Japan today, from cultural attitudes towards homelessness to government policies and incentives for private developers. It also looks at other factors such as strong family ties, high employment rates, strict regulations on alcohol consumption, and access to mental health services that have all played a role in reducing homelessness in Japan. By understanding these contributing factors we can gain greater insight into how this phenomenon exists so we can learn from it and apply some lessons elsewhere around world where homelessness remains an issue.
