A new main trailer has been unveiled for the ongoing From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman TV anime series, along with the addition of two new voice actors. The anime premiered in Japan on April 6, 2025 and will consist of 12 episodes.
The two new cast members portray characters from the Church of Sphene in the series, featuring Ai Kayano as Rose Marblehart and Hidenobu Kiuchi as Gatoga Lazorne.

Akio Kazumi (Fist of the Blue Sky Re: Genesis) is directing the series, while Kunihiko Okada (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy) serves as the series screenwriter. Satsuki Hayasaka (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy co-character designer) is the character designer and chief animation director. Animation production is handled by Passione and Hayabusa Film, with YAMATOWORKS assisting with 3D production.

The anime adaptation is derived from the fantasy light novel series authored by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. It was first published by Square Enix’s SQUEX Novel label on April 7, 2021, with nine volumes released by March 2025. The series initially launched as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel on November 17, 2020. J-Novel Club has licensed the light novels for digital distribution in English.
A manga adaptation by Kazuki Sato began serialization in Akita Shoten’s web magazine Dokodemo Young Champion on August 24, 2021. Seven tankobon volumes have been published in Japan by March 2025. Yen Press is responsible for releasing the manga in English in North America, while WEBTOON launched its own version of the manga last month.
Additionally, two manga spinoff series have been released in November 2024 and February 2025, respectively.
