©まきぶろ・一迅社/「悪役令嬢の中の人」製作委員会The Ichijinsha-published Akuyaku Reijou no Naka no Hito series, which originated from a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel by Makiburo, is set to receive an anime adaptation.
The storyline follows protagonist Emi, who reincarnates as Remilia, the villainess of an otome game. While Emi initially plans to create strategic relationships to dodge her character’s ending, certain occurrences cause her to lose consciousness, allowing Remilia to take over. Aware of Emi’s attempts and the events that ensued, Remilia vows to seek revenge for Emi.

The Akuyaku Reijou no Naka no Hito web novel began in May 2020, while the first volume of the Mai Murasaki-illustrated light novel series, published under the Ichijinsha Novels label, was released in February 2021. A manga adaptation by Nazuna Shiraume has also concluded its final chapter coinciding with the anime’s announcement.
As of 2024, the light novel series boasts two volumes, and the manga is set to release its sixth volume on June 25, 2025 JST.

According to Comic Natalie, the Akuyaku Reijou no Naka no Hito series has over two million copies in circulation. The sixth volume of the manga will also serve as its conclusion, and the manga achieved third place at Web Manga Sousenkyo 2023.
