The forthcoming Kaiju No. 8 The Game will introduce an Akari Kito-voiced original character named Sagan Shinomiya, who is the older adoptive sister of Kikoru Shinomiya.
While Sagan’s weapon of choice has not been revealed, existing information indicates her relocation to the US where she joined the American Defense Force following her adoption. Additionally, she leads the special unit CLOZER, which stands for Closing Order with Zero Restrictions and manages the enigmatic Kaiju Dimensional Gates central to the newly revealed premise of this mobile turn-based RPG.

“In this new Kaiju No. 8 world, where Kaiju with unknown powers appear not only in Japan but across the globe,” according to the press release. “Identified Kaiju that were once thought to be defeated now confront the Defense Force by passing through these Kaiju Dimensional Gates. Additionally, unknown Kaiju possessing special abilities—and seemingly responsible for the creation of these Kaiju Dimensional Gates—continue to cross the boundary between dimensions to launch their attacks. Their emergence has instigated a series of battles against colossal Kaiju.”
In an official greetings video, Kito discussed Sagan’s “tough look” and characterized her as “just so cool.” She remarked, “I think she’s quite serious, but she’s also a wonderful and honest person.”

Visual representations of the character depict her as a stern individual exuding authority and a striking coat. Notably, there are visual resemblances to Kikoru, especially in the zig-zag pattern of her ponytail and the design of her ribbon.
Kaiju No. 8 The Game is set to launch on App Store, Google Play, and Steam, with pre-registration for the Akatsuki Games-developed title opening on April 26 JST. By May, the global pre-registration count had surpassed 200,000.
