Ignoring inflation, this revenue elevates it from the 29th highest-grossing film in Japan (a position it reached in 10 days) to number 10, directly below Howl’s Moving Castle.
The record holder remains 2020’s Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – the Movie: Mugen Train with a staggering 40.43 billion yen.
Infinity Castle (Gekijoban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Daiisshou Akaza Sairai in Japanese) debuted in Japan on July 18 JST and is slated to start its international screening in August, with its North American premiere planned for September 12.

This film marks the beginning of a trilogy that will adapt the concluding arc of the Demon Slayer narrative, showcasing the final confrontation of the Demon Slayer Corps with Muzan and his demons within the Infinity Castle.
In Japan, Infinity Castle launched in 452 venues, including 59 IMAX theaters. In contrast, Mugen Train opened across 403 locations, with 38 of those being IMAX.
The original Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga, crafted by Koyoharu Gotouge, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Viz Media summarizes the manga as:
Learning to destroy demons won’t be easy, and Tanjiro barely knows where to start. The surprise appearance of another boy named Giyu, who seems to know what’s going on, might provide some answers—but only if Tanjiro can stop Giyu from killing his sister first!
The Demon Slayer anime commenced in 2019 with the first season of the TV series. It was succeeded by Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train, a broadcast version of Mugen Train, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc.
