Action Animator Nakaya Onsen’s Phenomenon X Manga Set for English Release

Notable action animator Nakaya Onsen, known for his work on anime such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, Mob Psycho 100 Season 2, and The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls, has recently revealed that his debut manga, Phenomenon X, is set for an English release.

“Good evening to everyone in the English-speaking world. I received an offer to publish the English edition of my manga Phenomenon X, and I’ve accepted it,” Onsen shared on X (formerly Twitter). “I’ll make another announcement once the publication is prepared.”

Onsen also mentioned in a separate post, “In my anime work, I typically focus on action animation, but my manga does not involve any action elements — it’s a serene detective narrative. I hope you’ll appreciate experiencing a different aspect of me compared to my anime style.”

Phenomenon X (Genshou X: Choujou Genshou Sousaroku) was first introduced in KADOKAWA’s Harta magazine in October 2024, and its inaugural volume was released in June 2025. The story revolves around a cat-eared detective named Anan and an investigator delving into a perplexing immolation case.
