© 赤井まつり・オーバーラップ / 暗殺者のステータスが勇者よりも強い製作委員会 A brand-new character trailer has been unveiled for the forthcoming My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s TV anime series, highlighting the black cat Yoru. The anime is set to launch in Japan starting October 2025.
The latest trailer of Yoru was released in celebration of Black Cat Appreciation Day on August 17, 2025.
Nobuyoshi Habara (Amaim Warrior at the Borderline, Fafner in the Azure) directs the anime series, with Kunihiko Okada (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy) serving as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Hirona Okada (Gundam Build Metaverse co-character designer) and Kaori Saito as character designers, Rihiro Yamane (Magic Knight Rayearth) as monster designer, Mitsuru Ishihara (RIN: Daughters of Mnemosyne character designer, The Faraway Paladin: the Lord of the Rust Mountains co-main animator) as main animator, and TOKYO LOGIC’s Satoshi Igarashi (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) as music composer. Animation production is managed by Sunrise.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast features:

The anime is adapted from the isekai fantasy light novel series, authored by Matsuri Akai and illustrated by Tozai. It debuted under Overlap’s Overlap Bunko imprint on November 25, 2017, and four volumes have been released as of February 2021, with a fifth volume expected to launch in Japan on September 25, 2025.
The series began as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in January 2017. It has also led to a manga adaptation by Hiroyuki Aigamo in July 2018. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both the light novels and manga for release in English.
