Seven Seas Entertainment has obtained the rights for the Though I Am an Inept Villainess light novels and manga series for English release, summarizing the core concept of the former as:
In the Kingdom of Ei, five clans submit their maidens as imperial consorts—but only one will become empress. Just when frail and lovely “court butterfly” Kou Reirin appears ready to wed the crown prince, envious “court rat” Shu Keigetsu seizes her body! Reirin finds herself imprisoned as the wrongdoer, and the situation seems bleak…or is it? With a strong new body at her disposal, not even the imminent risk of execution can halt her!
