Hajime Isayama created and illustrated the Attack on Titan manga, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from September 2009 to April 2021. Its chapters were collected into 34 volumes. The TV anime adaptation was directed by WIT Studio for the initial 3 seasons, after which MAPPA took over. The anime consisted of a total of 94 episodes, with the concluding episodes (88-94) released as the two Final Chapters specials.
The Final Chapters were compiled into the THE LAST ATTACK movie featuring enhanced visuals and sound. It debuted in Japan on November 8 to largely favorable reviews and introduced a new post-credit scene. The film surpassed 1 billion yen in revenue by December 5, with international screenings commencing in early 2025. Crunchyroll began streaming the movie on April 17, 2025.
Producer Tetsuya Kinoshita recently hinted at new upcoming projects for the anime, including plans for new films and collaborations.
