This development marks the establishment of Yokohama Animation Lab as the company’s inaugural in-house animation studio. Frontier Works conveyed that through this acquisition, they aim to adapt their own IPs alongside other IPs and delve into an array of anime-related ventures. Yokohama Animation Lab, situated in Yokohama, Japan, was founded in 2015 by the former Production I.G producer Yuma Oue. The studio has worked on various series including Lapis Re:Lights, The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, Whisper Me a Love Song, among several others. Frontier Works, Inc. is a Japanese entity within the Animate Group, founded in 2002, and serves as the principal company for anime-centric operations, focusing on planning, producing, and managing licensing rights.
