The manga series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has announced a hiatus. This information was shared on their official X/Twitter account.
As reported by Japan Anime News, the series will be taking a break to prioritize the creators’ health as they work on adjusting the serialization pacing and publication format. Information regarding the series’ return will be released in the future in Weekly Shounen Sunday.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, beginning its serialization in Shougakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2020. As of October 2025, there have been 14 released manga volumes, with the 15th volume scheduled to come out in Japan on December 18, 2025. The manga has received various accolades, including the 48th Kodansha Awards in the Shounen category and the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award.
The series inspired an anime adaptation that debuted in September 2023, with the announcement of its second season set to premiere on January 16, 2026, as part of Nippon TV’s Friday Anime Night Block.
