The NARUTO franchise is hinting at a fresh project announcement for New York Comic Con 2026, with a dedicated website going live and a countdown leading up to October 10. The details were shared by VIZ Media, the manga’s English publisher.
As per the teaser, NARUTO will make an appearance at New York Comic Con on October 10, where “exciting new updates” are set to be unveiled. Junko Takeuchi, the Japanese voice of Naruto Uzumaki, and Noriaki Sugiyama, the Japanese voice of Sasuke Uchiha, have also been confirmed as special guests.
NARUTO is a manga authored by Masashi Kishimoto. It started serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in September 1999 and continued for 15 years until November 2014, concluding with a total of 72 volumes. Studio Pierrot produced the anime adaptation, which debuted in October 2002 and consisted of 220 episodes. This was followed by a sequel titled NARUTO Shippuden, which aired for 500 episodes.

Additionally, there is a sequel BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS manga, initially penned by Ukyo Kodachi. Masashi Kishimoto later took over the narrative, with illustrations by Mikio Ikimoto. The manga launched in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2016 but transitioned to V Jump in 2019.
Part 2 of the manga called BORUTO: TWO BLUE VORTEX began in August 2023. The BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS anime adaptation commenced airing in April 2017 and went on a hiatus in March 2023. A 4-episode special was initially slated to air for four consecutive weeks starting September 3, 2023, but was postponed to “improve quality.”
A new NARUTO Card Game TCG was also recently announced for 2027, alongside a non-verbal live-action show expected to run at Kyoto’s Minamiza Theater from February to June 2027. The live-action film, directed by Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton, has recently started searching for the cast members of Team 7: Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.
