Series creator/showrunner Adi Shankar (Castelvania, Castelvania: Nocturne, Captain Laserhawk) today revealed sneak peek images for Devil May Cry Season 2, hinting at the introduction of Vergil — Dante’s long-estranged twin brother. The next chapter of the adult animated series, inspired by the popular Capcom video game series, debuts May 12 on Netflix.
“I’m allergic to formula. I dislike when successful shows become comfort food. Devil May Cry won’t be a show that loops. My mission for Season 2 was to capture the essence of a 2000s film franchise installment where the audience can’t foresee the next twist,” stated Shankar.
Discussing his enthusiasm for bringing Vergil to screens this season, the showrunner articulated: “His restraint. The fascinating aspect is that Vergil’s a character who can stand completely still and still feel like the most threatening one in the room. His presence speaks volumes.”
As previously announced, Robbie Daymond (Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon, Spider-Man in Marvel’s Spider-Man) is voicing Vergil, alongside Johnny Yong Bosch (Vash the Stampede in Trigun, Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach) as Dante and Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween, Charmed) as Lady.

The series is produced for Netflix by Korea’s Studio Mir (X-Men ’97, Dota: Dragon’s Blood).
