©ghost production committeeAnime director Shingo Natsume (One-Punch Man Season 1, The Tatami Time Machine Blues, Sonny Boy) returns with a new Madhouse-produced project, an original anime film tentatively titled ghost, set for a premiere in 2027.
The film showcases character design drafts from manga artist Natsume Ono (whose ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department manga was adapted into a Natsume-directed TV anime) and character designs from Norifumi Kugai (ACCA: 13, Sonny Boy). The script is being penned by Natsume.

The stills came with a brief description that begins with, “There is a ‘ghost’ in everyone’s hearts,” where “ghost” signifies an emotion that is real yet challenging to articulate. It continues by introducing a girl named Nike, who challenges the “irrationality” of the world to safeguard the “‘starry sky.’” It will also portray her “loneliness” and “bravery” in a “lyrical” manner, as well as the “subtleties of the heart” that arise from interactions with others.
