©古橋秀之・別天荒人・堀越耕平／集英社・ヴィジランテ製作委員会 Four new voice actors are joining the cast of the current My Hero Academia: Vigilantes TV anime series. The anime started airing in Japan on April 7, 2025, and will consist of 13 episodes.
The first two new voices belong to an idol group called FeatherS, while the other two are unnamed and identified only by their roles. They are:
- • Ayana Taketatsu as Miu
- • Sayumi Suzushiro as Yu
- • Masumi Tazawa as Captain of the East Naruhata High Dance Squad
- • Yuki Shin as Mad Hatters rock band leader

TOHO Animation has also unveiled an animated song video for the Marukane Department Store, which appears as one of the locations in an episode of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.
Kenichi Suzuki (Fairy Gone, Cells At Work!, Drifters) is at the helm for directing the anime series, while Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia) serves as the series screenwriter, Takahiko Yoshida (Cells At Work!, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen [2020]) is the character designer, Haruko Nobori (From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated!) takes on color design, Yukihiro Watanabe (Fuuto PI) is the background art director, and Eiei Cho (T・P BON) is the compositing director. Animation production is by BONES FILM.
Other team members include Yingying Zhang as the director of photography (The Case Study of Vanitas), Mizuki Sasaki (My Hero Academia season 5-7) as the 3DCG director, Kiyoshi Hirose (Fire Force) as editor, and Masafumi Mima (My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan) as sound director. Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia, Haikyu!!), Shogo Yamashiro, and Yuki Furuhashi are contributing as music composers.
The anime adaptation derives from the superhero manga series penned by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court. The manga is a prequel spinoff of Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia series, taking place five years prior to the main narrative. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine starting August 20, 2016, then moved to Shonen Jump+ in October 2016. The series wrapped up on May 28, 2022, with a total of 15 tankobon volumes released. VIZ Media is responsible for the English releases of the manga series.
A special one-shot chapter of the manga was recently published on Shonen Jump+ in April 2025.
The principal My Hero Academia anime series is set to launch its final season in October 2025. The inaugural season began in 2016, with the most recent seventh season airing in May 2024. Bones has been in charge of animation production throughout all previous seasons.
