Masato Matsune (The Stories of Girls Who Couldn’t Be Magicians) is helming the original anime series, with Makoto Uezu (KonoSuba) serving as the story draft writer and screenwriter, Jiro Suzuki (Revenger co-original character designer, Umineko no Naku Koro ni: Episode 2: Turn of the Golden Witch manga artist) as original character designer, Hiroshi Kosuga as character designer and chief animation director, and Evan Call (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) composing the music. Studio Gokumi is responsible for the animation production, while Cygames is recognized as the series producer.

Miko Kurono, aka Necronomico, completes her middle school education and opts to chase her aspirations of being a streamer. One day, while with her childhood companion, Mayu Mayusaka, and her competitor, Kanna Kagurazaka, she agrees to participate in a new VR game. The game presents Miko with the chance to face enigmatic challenges alongside other distinctive streamers she encounters in the VR universe.
