Crunchyroll showcased an exciting array of new anime at New York Comic Con 2026, revealing the world premiere trailer for Sekiro: No Defeat, providing a first peek at the Ghost of Tsushima Legends adaptation, showcasing adaptations of popular WEBTOON comics, and presenting a mix of new series acquisitions alongside returning favorites.
Hosted by Tim Lyu and Lauren Moore, the event featured multiple world premiere trailers, key visuals, and new asset reveals across anime, manga, and video games, in addition to casting and staff announcements for various upcoming projects.
Crunchyroll opened the showcase with an exclusive sneak peek of a world premiere clip from Sekiro: No Defeat. This fully hand-drawn anime adaptation, produced by Kadokawa, Qzil.la, and ARCH, is set to stream exclusively on Crunchyroll as an eight-episode series starting January 2027. Attendees also got an initial look at Ghost of Tsushima Legends, produced in partnership with PlayStation Productions. The presentation included a sneak peek at a work-in-progress trailer, offering fans a glimpse of what lies ahead. This series draws inspiration from the online multiplayer mode of the popular action-adventure video game, Ghost of Tsushima, created by Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions.

The upcoming series boasts an impressive creative team, featuring director Takanobu Mizuno, with Gen Urobuchi (NITRO PLUS) overseeing series composition and script, Satoshi Maejima (NITRO PLUS) as scriptwriter, 2026 Emmy Award winner Takashi Okazaki handling character design, Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Star Wars Visions: The Duel) composing the music, and Yoshikazu Iwanami (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Batman Ninja) as sound director. The event also revealed the newly announced voice cast for the series, including Mayumi Saco and Shinya Fukumatsu. Currently in production by HAYATE in collaboration with PlayStation Productions, Ghost of Tsushima Legends is scheduled for release in 2028.
HAYATE, LINE Digital Frontier Corporation (a subsidiary of WEBTOON Entertainment), and Crunchyroll announced a thrilling anime co-production partnership focusing on adapting a selection of WEBTOON series titles into anime. This collaboration will involve the three companies from the development phase on potential adaptations of around 15 chosen titles. HAYATE will spearhead the development and production in conjunction with Crunchyroll and LINE Digital Frontier, with Crunchyroll set to exclusively stream the resulting anime in designated territories. Each anime announced is based on a webcomic available via LINE Digital Frontier’s mobile application.
The firms also shared updates and reveals for the following titles: The Remarried Empress — a new anime adaptation announcement featuring character art (displayed above) and a special promotional trailer that introduced the main production staff and cast; Teenage Mercenary (which revealed a new teaser visual and special promotional trailer) and The Boxer (a new anime adaptation announcement with an accompanying special promotional trailer).
After the announcement regarding the anime adaptation of Kagurabachi set to premiere on Crunchyroll next year, attendees at the Showcase were granted exclusive in-room access to brand new character art from the series. The narrative follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young boy aspiring to become a swordsmith under the guidance of his father Kunishige, a celebrated swordsmith. Their once joyful days are shattered by a ferocious attack from an enigmatic sorcerer group, the Hishaku. From that moment forward, everything changes. In a world engulfed in darkness, Chihiro wields Enten, the seventh Enchanted Blade left by his father, embarking on a grim quest for revenge.

Crunchyroll presented the first look at EAT-MAN, a new adaptation of the 1997 series, which follows Bolt Crank, a mysterious “explorer”—a mercenary undertaking perilous tasks that align with his own ethical principles. The worldwide premiere trailer for Here U Are was unveiled at the Showcase. Set to premiere in January 2027, Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret showcased its world premiere trailer during the event. Announced alongside key art, this romantic comedy follows Hizashi Hiruno, a freshman at a prestigious high school, who has just completed his first academic proficiency test of the year. Nervously awaiting his results, which will define his next three years at the school, he faces a mix-up on his answer sheet leading to an appallingly low score, resulting in his placement in remedial lessons! A silver lining emerges, however, as he discovers that he’s not alone—and his comrade could possibly be the girl of his dreams!
A new trailer and key visuals provided fans with insight into Magical Buffs: The Support Caster is Stronger Than He Realized!, set to debut next year. Produced by J.C. Staff (Toradora!, Honey Lemon Soda), with music contributions from Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia, Haikyu!!), Luke Standridge, and Asa Taylor. Additionally, fans received a delightful surprise as it was revealed that global music sensation LiSA will perform the anime’s opening theme song.

Crunchyroll unveiled a world premiere trailer for The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All, granting fans another glimpse of the much-acclaimed series. This story follows a trendy, rock music-loving high schooler who develops feelings for a mysterious employee at a local CD store. Helmed by the director of Horimiya, and featuring character designs by the character designer of Oshi no Ko; the series boasts a cast that includes Mariya Ise (Killua, Hunter x Hunter) and Akari Kito (Nezuko, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Fans can currently read the first two volumes on Crunchyroll Manga.
Crunchyroll Manga is celebrating its one-year anniversary since launching in the U.S. and Canada. The platform, which assembles titles from multiple leading publishers for fans to enjoy, will host over 450 titles following an update this month. New manga arriving on October 12 will feature The Cursed Princess and the Sun Prince: I Will Melt Your Frozen Heart, The House of the Nurarihyon, Colori Colore Creare, High Elf With a Long Life, Record Journey, and Strange Pictures.

To commemorate its 10th anniversary, the globally beloved anime series Yuri!!! on ICE is set to return to theaters for a one-day event as part of Crunchyroll’s monthly Anime Nights program. This special screening will take place on Monday, October 19 at 7 p.m. (local time) in theaters across the U.S. and Canada, featuring the first five episodes. Originally airing in 2016, the series follows Japanese figure skater Yuri Katsuki in his pursuit of gold under the mentorship of his idol and coach, five-time world champion Victor Nikiforov, and continues to be praised by fans, critics, and professional skaters alike.
Distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, the feature film Witch on the Holy Night, crafted by the renowned animation studio ufotable, will exclusively hit theaters on January 29, 2027. Audiences can enjoy the film in both English dub and Japanese with English subtitles.
