How long can EU citizen stay in Japan?
This article provides an overview of the different types of visas available to EU citizens traveling to Japan, as well as the length of time they are allowed to stay in the country. Generally speaking, short-term visas allow for stays of up to 90 days while long-term visas allow for stays up to one year or more depending on the visa type and its purpose. Additionally, there are requirements that must be met in order to enter Japan as an EU citizen, such as having a valid passport and visa or residence permit. It is also possible to extend one's stay beyond the allotted time if approved by Japanese immigration authorities prior to expiry, however overstaying without approval could result in fines, jail time, deportation, and/or blacklisting from future visits.
