This article examines the evolution of parenting styles in Japan, which have shifted from traditional values of obedience and conformity to more modern values of individual growth and self-expression. It looks at the role of education in Japanese parenting, traditional practices, the impact of western culture, modern practices, benefits and challenges faced by parents. The article concludes that parental style in Japan has evolved over time to reflect changing societal values and increased access to western culture.
