Does Japan have a limit on babies?
Japan has implemented a "baby limit" policy in response to its low birth rate and population decline, limiting couples from having more than two children unless they meet certain criteria. The reasons behind the low birth rate include economic instability, long working hours, and cultural norms. The Japanese government has responded with policies such as tax breaks for families with multiple children, extended parental leave, childcare subsidies, and incentives for employers providing flexible working arrangements. Immigration policies have also been implemented to attract foreign workers but these do not address the root causes of the low fertility rate. The effects on families and society have been mixed but it remains unclear if this measure will be successful in reversing the trend.
