What is Japan’s biggest population problem?
Japan is facing a population decline due to low fertility rates, an aging population, and strict immigration policies. This has had a large impact on the country's economy and society as a whole. Various strategies are being implemented by both government officials and private companies in order to address the issue, such as increasing incentives for families and loosening immigration policies. However, cultural attitudes towards having children and lack of infrastructure support remain challenges that need to be addressed in order for long-term solutions to be found. Charles R Tokoyama, CEO of Japan Insiders, states that encouraging immigration while introducing incentives that make having children attractive again is the only way out of this situation.
