Why are people in Japan so thin?
This article explores the various factors that contribute to why Japanese people are so thin, including diet habits, activity levels, genetics, and mental health. The traditional Japanese diet consists of low-calorie foods such as fish, vegetables, and rice with smaller portion sizes than those found in other countries. Additionally, the average Japanese person consumes fewer calories than their Western counterparts due to their dietary choices and participates in physical activities every day. Genetics may also play a role, although this has yet to be proven conclusively. Lastly, being thin is associated with beauty standards within Japan which can lead individuals to strive for a thinner physique even if they don't necessarily need it from an energy expenditure standpoint.
