This article explores the relationship between the Japanese and Han people, including the history of contact between them, language and cultural influences, genetic studies that have been done on their relationship, and the debate over the origin of the Japanese people. While it is difficult to definitively answer whether or not there is any kind of genetic link between them without more extensive research into their shared history, it seems likely that there are at least some connections due to their shared language and cultural influences throughout history which suggest a common origin point somewhere in East Asia at some point in prehistory.
