This article explores the amount of time Japanese students spend studying each day, taking into account the structure of the education system, school hours, after-school study sessions, homework and assignments, extracurricular activities, and the impact of technology. It is generally accepted that most high school aged students spend around 4-6 hours per day studying either inside or outside regular school hours.
