How old is ancient Japan?
This article provides an overview of the history of Ancient Japan, from its beginnings around 30,000 BC to the Asuka period in 710 CE. It discusses the hunter-gatherer societies of the Jomon people and how they were replaced by the Yamato people from Korea or China who brought with them iron tools and weapons, as well as new religious beliefs like Buddhism. It also looks at each of the prehistoric periods - Yayoi (300 BCE–300 CE), Kofun (250–538 CE), and Asuka (538–710 CE) - and how they shaped Japanese culture and society. By studying Ancient Japan, we can gain a better understanding of how modern day Japan has evolved over time.
