Factors such as age, gender and education level can affect the perception of wealth. According to Forbes Magazine's list for 2020 there were 11 Japanese billionaires listed. In general terms it is safe to say that having 10 million yen (about $90 000 USD) or more would be considered a lot by most people living in Japan while having assets such as real estate or stocks worth 50 million yen (about 450 000 USD) would also be considered quite substantial by most people regardless of their other demographic characteristics.
