Why can’t Japanese eat in public?
In Japan, it is considered rude and disrespectful to eat in public due to strong adherence to cultural norms and beliefs, respect for others' privacy and space, as well as respect for the environment. Eating habits also vary from culture to culture with Japanese preferring meals eaten indoors rather than outdoors due to practical considerations such as temperature control and access to utensils, as well as certain rules of etiquette associated with dining out.
