What are you not allowed to bring to Japan?
Japan has strict regulations regarding what individuals can bring into the country. Prohibited items include fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, and dairy products without proper documentation, illegal drugs, weapons and firearms, counterfeit goods, endangered species and their products, cultural artifacts without proper documentation, medical drugs and devices that may require approval from the Japanese government, cigarettes and tobacco products for personal use only with proper documentation for selling or distributing them, alcoholic beverages for personal use only with proper documentation for selling or distributing them, electronic devices subject to inspection upon arrival in Japan. Individuals are required to declare any cash amounts over 1 million yen when entering or leaving Japan. Violating these regulations could result in penalties or even imprisonment.
