©SUNRISE An exciting new “super teaser video” trailer has been released for the upcoming Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers TV anime series. This anime is a continuation of the original Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers series.
Furthermore, the four unidentified characters hinted at in the trailer have only been disclosed in silhouette form alongside the initials of their corresponding voice actors on the show’s official Twitter/X account. As of the current moment, they consist of:
- • A.M. as Suiren
- • S.T. as Koya
- • J.E. as Sokyu
- • K.K. as Senko
Currently, the only confirmed cast member for this anime is Hiiro Ishibashi as the lead character Gai. Directing Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers is Yoichi Fujita (known for Osomatsu-san Season 1-2 and Good Luck Girl), with Shogo Muto (screenwriter for Thermae Romae live-action movie and Build NEW WORLD: Kamen Rider Grease) handling the series script. Yuhei Murota (co-character designer for Love Live!) is the main character designer, Tsukasa Kotobuki (co-character designer for Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin) will design villain characters, Hideo Okamoto (Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers yoroi designer) is drafting the Yoroi gear design, and Takuya Suzuki (mechanical animation designer for Valvrave the Liberator) is responsible for animation gear design. Sunrise is responsible for the animation production.
©SUNRISEThe original 1988-1989 Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers series was the inspiration for three OVAs, a manga adaptation, and novels. An anniversary screening featuring three episodes from the series took place in Japan on June 11, 2025. The series was released in English by Discotek Media as a complete Blu-ray collection titled Samurai Troopers Ronin Warriors in 2021.
The upcoming Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers anime will focus on five young samurai who come to the rescue of humanity as demons invade following a ruptured seal on their dimension.
