A new key visual has been revealed for the TV anime adaptation of 9-nine- Ruler’s Crown. The show is set to premiere in Japan in July 2025. An advance screening of the first two episodes will take place on June 15, 2025, at Parthenon Tama in Tokyo.
This new visual features the four key heroines and the main male lead of the series.

Koichi Ohata (Maken-ki!, Saiyuki Reload -burial-) is directing the series, with Saori Sakiguchi (Technoroid: Overmind) serving as character designer, Fumiyuki Uehara (VAZZROCK THE ANIMATION co-chief animation director) as co-character designer, and Kosuke Kuremizu as the writer for the series. Animation production will be handled by PRA.
The main voice cast, who will reprise their roles from the all-ages version of the visual novel, includes:

9-nine- Ruler’s Crown draws its inspiration from the 9-nine- visual novel series by Palette, which launched in April 2017. The all-ages version was made available for Windows in Japan in 2021, followed by releases for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2022. A spinoff for the visual novel series is scheduled for release in Japan later this year.
A manga adaptation by Izumi Kawachi debuted on Futabasha’s Gaugau Monster website on October 22, 2021.
Sekai Project has released four episodes of the 9-nine visual novel on Steam with English language support, starting in 2019. The game’s description for 9-nine-: Episode 1 is as follows:
9-nine- Episode 1 is the initial volume in a series of supernatural mystery games, focusing on a storyline about Miyako Kujo. Each entry in the 9-nine- series is set in the same world but highlights a different heroine. The story revolves around the town of Shiromitsugawa, where mysterious Artifacts and the superpowers they provide to their Users exist. It is a narrative that explores the themes of growing trust and emerging romance between the protagonist and the heroine, as well as a murder mystery involving the investigation of a series of supernatural homicides. Each game presents an independent tale that can be appreciated on its own. We hope you enjoy the journey that the 9-nine- series offers.
