The Beginning After the End is Back for 2nd Season in Spring 2026

Crunchyroll revealed today that the ongoing The Beginning After the End TV anime adaptation will proceed with a second season in Spring 2026. The upcoming season will be available for streaming on the platform, following the same model as the first season, which initiated its broadcast in Japan on April 2, 2025. 
In anticipation of the second season’s launch, a post-credits scene from the anime’s forthcoming 12th episode has also been released by the company. This episode marks the conclusion of the first season, scheduled to premiere on June 18, 2025, at 10:25 AM PST / 1:25 PM EST.

Keitaro Motonaga (Date A Live Seasons 1-3, Katanagatari) is at the helm of directing the anime series, with Takamitsu Kono (Utawarerumono: The False Faces, A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special) serving as series screenwriter, Masami Sueoka (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human) being the character designer, and Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) composing the music. The animation production is being handled by Studio A-CAT, with Slow Curve credited for general production. 
At the same time, the anime’s cast includes:

• • Makoto Furukawa as Grey
• • Kana Ichinose as Tessia Eralith
• • Chiaki Omigawa as Jasmine Flamesworth

TurtleMe (the pen name of American writer Brandon Lee) contributes to the adaptation as the story supervisor and executive producer. Mike Zhu, Kevin Nicklaus, and Gabrielle Luu from Tapas Entertainment are credited as executive producers.  
TurtleMe’s series was originally a web novel published by Tapas on January 18, 2017. Fuyuki23 is credited with the illustrations for the webtoon comic adaptation that started serialization on Tapas’ website on July 7, 2018. As of March 2025, seven print volumes have been released, with an eighth volume scheduled to launch on July 22, 2025, and a ninth volume on November 25, 2025. Yen Press is responsible for releasing the webtoon comic adaptation in English print, while Tapas manages digital releases of the series.

Crunchyroll outlines the main synopsis of The Beginning After the End season one as: 
Following a mysterious death, King Grey is reborn as Arthur Leywin on the magical continent of Dicathen. Although he begins his second life as an infant, his prior wisdom remains intact. He embarks on mastering magic and carving out his own path as the years progress, aiming to amend the errors of his previous life.
