Fandango, the nation’s leading online movie ticketing service, announced today that Crunchyroll’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has become the platform’s best first-day ticket pre-seller for an anime film ever. The film has outperformed Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (2021) and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2022) in its first 24 hours of coordinated sales.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, the first feature film in the three-part cinematic trilogy showcasing the final battle of the beloved, award-winning shonen series from animation studio ufotable, will be released in theaters, including IMAX and premium large formats in the United States on September 12, distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English.

Synopsis: Tanjiro Kamado — a boy who becomes part of an organization devoted to hunting demons called the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister Nezuko is transformed into a demon.
As he grows stronger and forges deeper friendships with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has faced numerous demons alongside his comrades — Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. Throughout his journey, he has fought alongside the highest-ranking swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, the Hashira, including Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui in the Entertainment District, and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji at the Swordsmith Village.
While the members of the Demon Slayer Corps and Hashira partake in a group strength training program known as the Hashira Training, gearing up for the impending battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in jeopardy, Tanjiro and the Hashira hurry to the headquarters but find themselves plunged into a mysterious space by Muzan Kibutsuji.
The location to which Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold — the Infinity Castle. Thus, the scene is set for the final confrontation between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons to begin.
Based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge (Shueisha’s Weekly Jump), the latest installment in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise is directed by franchise veteran Haruo Sotozaki, who also helmed the box-office record-breaking Mugen Train, from a screenplay by producers ufotable.
