Toho Announces Free Marathon of ‘My Hero Academia’ to Celebrate Show’s 10th Anniversary

Toho has revealed fresh plans for celebrating the 10th anniversary of its beloved animated series My Hero Academia. The company unveiled a new visual for the upcoming Episode 170+1, “More,” alongside a months-long free-streaming marathon to honor the show’s significant milestone.

The “More” episode is set to debut on Crunchyroll globally (excluding Asia) on May 2. Based on the manga’s 431st chapter, which was part of the final volume, the episode continues the journey of Izuku “Deku” Midoriya and his peers eight years following their graduation from U.A. High School.

Rooted in the popular comics by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia takes place in a future society where around 80% of the population possesses a superpowered “Quirk.” The manga concluded in August 2024, achieving over 100 million copies sold worldwide, and the series comprises eight seasons, 170 episodes, and four feature films. In the narrative, heroes shield society from accidents, disasters, and villains — those who exploit their Quirks for malicious purposes. The saga of Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at U.A. High School, characterized by their development, battles, and friendships, unfolds as they strive to become heroes. The anime series is scheduled to release its eighth and concluding season in Fall 2025.

Today, Toho has kicked off the “My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary: Free Binge Marathon — Early Seasons (1–3)”, a limited-time worldwide streaming initiative available on the TOHO animation official YouTube channel. Seasons 1–3 (Episodes 1–63) can be streamed for free, featuring subtitle options in seven languages: English, French, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), German, Portuguese, and Italian.
