HUNTER x HUNTER is the most recent Weekly Shonen Jump series to receive a new music video as part of the JUMP MV collaboration project. The new video showcases Yoshihiro Togashi’s long-running manga alongside Sakurazaka46’s song “Unhappy birthday構文” (“Unhappy Birthday Syntax”) and premiered on the official Shonen Jump YouTube channel on August 2.
This collaboration represents the 57th entry in the JUMP MV series, an initiative that merges Shonen Jump manga with songs from Sony Music artists through unique music videos. Included in the video are characters such as Hisoka, Chrollo, and Kurapika. Check it out below.

HUNTER x HUNTER by Yoshihiro Togashi has been serialized since 1998, achieving over 84 million copies in circulation globally, including digital formats. The manga made its return after a 4-year hiatus in October 2022.
Since then, there have been inconsistent releases, and in December 2022, it was confirmed that the manga would be transitioning away from a weekly schedule. Volume 38 was released on September 4, 2024, in Japan, while Chapter 401 appeared in the WSJ magazine on October 7 of the same year.

The song in focus is performed by Japanese idol group Sakurazaka46, previously known as Keyakizaka46. The group has risen to become one of Japan’s most successful idol acts in recent years, completing dome tours, overseas performances, and a two-day 5th anniversary concert at Japan National Stadium in 2026, drawing about 140,000 attendees. An Asian tour is also set for 2027.
The JUMP MV project began with a collaboration featuring Naruto and consistently produces music videos that pair WSJ manga with songs from Sony Music artists. Recently, the initiative has released collaborations that include BLEACH and Haikyu.
The franchise has introduced two new games since then: HUNTER x HUNTER: NEN IMPACT, which debuted on July 17, 2025, and HUNTERxHUNTER NENxSURVIVOR, which launched on February 17, 2026.
