Toei Reveals 'One Piece Film God Valley' & 'Baad' Movie Projects

During the major One Piece Day festivities in Tokyo on Sunday, Toei Animation unveiled two upcoming movies for the beloved anime franchise. One Piece Film God Valley is set to be released in theaters across Japan in Summer 2027, with One Piece Film Baad following in 2029. More details are expected to be disclosed soon.

The God Valley film will adapt the flashback narrative from the Elbaph Arc, which is currently being aired in the animated series. The God Valley Incident narrates a genocide and significant conflict on the island of God Valley, resulting in the demise of Rocks D. Xebec and the island’s submersion into the ocean.

Other notable moments from the event included the announcement of the World Top 100, which garnered 13,086,239 fan votes, allowing Monkey D. Luffy to reclaim the No. 1 position among all 1,567 characters. He was succeeded by Roronoa Zoro at No. 2 and Sanji at No. 3. It was also revealed that creator Eiichiro Oda will illustrate new “Special Outfit” artworks for the Top 30 characters, which will be displayed in the anime, One Piece Card Game, and other merchandise.

Additionally, four new actors for Season 3 of the live-action Netflix One Piece series — One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta (2027) — were revealed. Emilio Sakraya (Rheingold, Those About to Die, Fortitude) will join the cast as Koza, Omid Abtahi (The Mandalorian, American Gods) will take on the role of Toto, Jamie Ward (The Gentlemen, His Dark Materials) will portray Pell, and Nabeel Khan (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Strike Back) will take on the role of Chaka. More casting announcements will be made in the future.
