The popular Korean webcomic and web novel SSS-Class Revival Hunter is set to receive an anime adaptation, scheduled to premiere in January 2027. The series will stream on Crunchyroll globally, except in Asia, with availability in the Indian subcontinent, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
The initial teaser trailer and visual provide a sneak peek into the start of Gongja Kim’s adventure. Leading an ordinary life as a bottom-tier hunter, Gongja gazes enviously at those who have achieved greatness. Suspended above him is a mysterious card radiating light — and silently observing from behind is the man known as the Sword Emperor.
Additionally announced today: Takeo Otsuka (Aqua in Oshi no Ko) will voice Gongja Kim, while Satoshi Hino (Kyojuro in Demon Slayer) will take on the role of the Sword Emperor.

The anime is helmed by seasoned director Hiroaki Sakurai (Di Gi Charat, Cromartie High School, Les Miserables: Shoujo Cosette), with the script penned by Sayuri Oba (Romantic Killer, Me & Roboco The Movie) and character designs crafted by Takahiro Yoshimatsu (Bullet/Bullet, Overlord). Animation is being produced by STUDIO fu (In the Clear Moonlit Dusk).
Synopsis: A mysterious tower teeming with monsters has suddenly emerged, attracting Hunters willing to risk their lives for fame and fortune. Gongja Kim, a weak F-rank Hunter, spends his days envying the Flame Emperor who reigns as the supreme Hunter. However, his opportunity for greatness finally arrives when he allies with the Sword Emperor and acquires a rare S-rank skill, but with one condition: he must die to activate it.
