Image source: AnimEigoAnimEigo has revealed a number of forthcoming home video releases during its panel at Otakon 2025. The event was led by company owner and MediaOCD CEO Justin Sevakis.
Some of the featured titles discussed at the panel include several upcoming releases for 2025, such as Sasuke, Looking for the Full Moon (known in Japan as Full Moon wo Sagashite), and the Black Jack OVA series. Sneak peeks were also provided for several upcoming 2026 titles, including Hotori: Simply Wishing for Hope and Alien Nine, both set for release under AnimEigo’s Ruined Childhood imprint.
Below are the details for AnimEigo’s upcoming releases for 2025 and 2026:
Sasuke
Release Date: October 14, 2025
The historic 1968 anime series is making its North American debut in a complete collection, restored from original film materials and featuring newly created subtitles. Additionally, it includes a previously unreleased English dub. The 29-episode series is set to be released in HD Blu-ray from AnimEigo as a deluxe 3-disc set.
Looking for the Full Moon: Volume 2
Release Date: November 11, 2025
The climactic second half (episodes 27-52) of the anime adaptation of Arina Tanemura’s shojo manga series will be released in English for the first time.
The series has been remastered in HD for the Blu-ray release and includes an English dub, along with the original Japanese dialogue (with English subtitles).
Black Jack OVA
Release Date: December 16, 2025
The 12-episode OVA series will be offered in a collectible 2-disc set.

Hotori: Simply Wishing for Hope
Release Date: 2026
The 2005 Animax Award-winning TV special is making its North American debut in HD. The story of a robot boy who forms a bond with a terminally ill girl was helmed by Takashi Anno and produced at Sunrise.
Alien Nine
Release Date: 2026
The 4-episode OVA series is adapted from the manga by Hitoshi Tomizawa and directed by Yasuhiro Irie. It follows three elementary school girls — Yuri Otani, Kumi Kawamura, and Kasumi Tomine — who must combat invading aliens as part of the school’s “Anti-Alien Team.”
The AnimEigo Blu-ray release offers the episodes in HD and includes an English dub along with the original Japanese dialogue (with English subtitles).
