The new cast comprises Tetsuya Kakihara as Toppo, Tatsuyuki Kobayashi as Thomas, and Yuka Aisaka as Tunica.

Takayuki Kitagawa (Chiikawa Episode 106 to 115 storyboard artist and director) directs the anime series, with Masakazu Sunagawa (Cuticle Detective Inaba) as assistant director, Kenta Ihara (Blue Miburo) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Akiko Sato (A Condition Called Love) as character designer. LandQ Studio is responsible for the animation production.
The anime adaptation is inspired by the manga by Chikage Nakakura, which adapts a light novel series penned by Tobirano and illustrated by Mai Murasaki (who is credited with the original character designs in the anime’s credits). Futabasha first released the light novels on April 15, 2020, with eight volumes available as of January 2025, and the latest six volumes distributed as e-books. The manga adaptation by Nakakura commenced on July 24, 2020. The series originated as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in 2019.
