Blade & Bastard TV Anime Reveals New Teaser Visual & Main Cast Announcement Trailer

A fresh teaser visual illustration and primary cast announcement have been disclosed for the forthcoming Blade & Bastard TV anime adaptation. Warner Bros. Japan revealed the latest visual and trailer during its presentation at Anime Expo 2025. A premiere date, as well as the staff and studio, have yet to be announced.

The five principal cast members, showcased in the trailer, leading the series include:

• Makoto Furukawa as Iarumas
• Tomori Kusunoki as Garbage
• Daiki Yamashita as Raraja
• Saori Hayami as Ainikki
• Shion Wakayama as Berkanan

The new visual is illustrated by the original light novel artist so-bin. It represents an updated iteration of an initial teaser visual that was released when the anime was first announced last October, now featuring Raraja, Ainikki, and Berkanan.
The light novel series is authored by Goblin Slayer creator Kumo Kagyu and features illustrations by Overlord artist so-bin. It has been published under DRECOM’s DRE Novels imprint since December 9, 2022, and encompasses five volumes as of June 2025. It has also inspired a manga adaptation in June 2023, which Yen Press has released in English print.

J-Novel Club simultaneously publishes the light novels in English digitally and outlines the primary synopsis as:
In the depths of the uncharted segments of the dungeon, a corpse is unearthed—one that defies existence. After Iarumas is brought back to life, the memories of his previous life are erased, and he spends his time exploring the dungeon to collect the remains of deceased adventurers. Is revival possible for them as well? Or will God turn them into mere ashes upon the altar? Regardless, Iarumas collects his finder’s fee. Though his abilities garner him a modicum of respect, he faces disdain for his cold, pragmatic approach. The living tend to keep away— Iarumas primarily associates with the dead. That changes when he encounters Garbage, a wild young swordswoman who is the last one standing from a slaughtered group. With Garbage alongside him, Iarumas delves deeper, searching the dungeon for information about his past, while dodging monsters, traps, and the certainty of an irreversible ashen fate.
