©Koyoharu Gotoge / SHUEISHA, Aniplex, ufotableFollowing its second box office weekend, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle (Gekijoban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Daiisshou Akaza Sairai) has achieved a global gross of US$555 million, making it the largest anime movie in history.
It also marks the first film to surpass the US$500 million milestone; 2020’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train came close with a total of US$486,451,200, while 2016’s Your Name grossed US$405,349,022. These figures do not account for inflation or variables such as the number of screens available.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle’s US$555 million positions it as the ninth highest-grossing film of 2025, just below Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. In the animation category, it ranks second to the Chinese film Ne Zha 2, which is also the top-performing movie of the year overall. However, Ne Zha 2 generated US$1,862,459,345 out of its total US$1,902,337,333 gross from China alone, and it remains uncertain whether Infinity Castle will have a release there.
For its second weekend, Infinity Castle earned US$17.3 million at the US box office, a drop from its impressive US$70 million opening weekend. In Japan, where it debuted on July 18 JST, it slipped to second place for the first time due to the launch of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.
