Hanashi Media Licenses The New Gate & Re:Monster Light Novel Series

Hanashi Media made an announcement on its official Twitter/X account and Discord regarding the licensing of two new fantasy light novel series: Re:Monster and The New Gate. The initial volumes of both series are set to launch digitally on October 30, 2025, with pre-orders now open for both titles.
Here are the specifics for the new light novel series:

Re:Monster

The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation by Haruyoshi Kobayakawa in March 2014, which is being released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, along with a light novel sequel series launched in July 2018.
The series also features a 12-episode TV anime adaptation released in 2024 by Studio Deen. Crunchyroll offered worldwide streaming as the series aired in Japan.
Synopsis:
After being stabbed by a stalker and left for dead, Gobrou woke up to find himself reborn as the weakest of creatures—a lowly goblin. However, with the enigmatic Absorption Skill, a power granting him strength by consuming the defeated, he swiftly evolved in ways unimaginable. In a short time, he had propelled himself to the top of the goblin hierarchy.
Now, in a vicious otherworld where strength is paramount and the weak are prey, Gobrou embarks on a brutal quest for supremacy. Armed with competent subordinates and dedicated allies, his ferocious ascent is set to begin—a blood-drenched saga of survival, evolution, and monster chaos!

The light novel series inspired a manga adaptation by Yoshiyuki Miwa in November 2014, which One Peace Books is releasing in English. It is also available digitally in English on Alphapolis’ Alpha Manga service.
A twelve-episode TV anime series from Cloud Hearts and Yokohama Animation Laboratory was rolled out in 2024.
Synopsis:
In the deepest level of the dungeon known as the Gate of the Otherworld, Shin found himself engaged in battle. His enemy: the final boss of THE NEW GATE, a VRMMO that had turned into a deadly game.
After an intense and punishing fight, Shin emerged triumphant, freeing the imprisoned players from their digital confinement. However, just as he felt the burden lift, a mysterious door opened deep within the dungeon—and in an instant, Shin lost consciousness.
