Kamitsubaki City Under Construction Unveils New Visual Ahead of Final Episode

A new key visual has been unveiled for the ongoing Kamitsubaki City Under Construction TV anime series, prior to the show’s 12th and final episode which will be broadcast on September 25, 2025. The anime started airing in Japan on July 3, 2025, kicking off with “Episode 0.”

Kodai Kakimoto (BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! director, Narenare -Cheer for You!-) is acting as director and series screenwriter for the anime. Additional staff includes PALOW (Eve’s “Mob” music video co-concept artist) as character designer and Soki Tsukishima (Ingress the Animation co-series screenwriter and scriptwriter) as setting designer, supervisor, and original scenario creator. SMDE is responsible for the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the anime’s central cast features members of V.W.P, including:

A theatrical preview of the series Kamitsubaki-Shi Kensetsu-chu. Majo no Musume -Witchling- was shown in Japanese theaters for two weeks starting June 13, 2025.

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series globally, and summarizes the main synopsis as:
Seven years following the devastation of humanity by a major disaster, a beacon of science and prosperity emerges in Kamitsubaki City. However, lurking in its shadows are Tesseractor, creatures born from human darkness. Only the Witchling, a group of five girls with voices that wield magic, can stand against them. With every note, they strive not only to safeguard the city’s peace but also to heal a fractured world.
Kamitsubaki Studio characterizes itself as “a creative label and new-age artist management which produces cutting-edge internet culture with the next generation of creators” aiming to “research and develop the future of IP and entertainment through the development of artists, original stories, future XR experiences, and metaverse development.” The firm also operates a music label, a story research and development division, a product development division, and a metaverse research and development division.
